Another Title?

The Boston Celtics are basketball's equivalent of the Tampa Bay Rays. Worst to first. 2007-2008 was a remarkable season for the C's. It all started with Danny Ainge* pulling off one of the most amazing trades in basketball history. The Big Three lead the Celtics to the finals and got themselves a big ol' trophy to take back home to Bean Town. The question is, can they do it all again? What kind of stupid question is that?! Of course they can win it all again! Almost everyone from last season is back. This will be an advantage to the Celtics in the playoffs because the majority of the team has been together in super-pressure situations before. The biggest loss the Celtics took this offseason is the leaving of James Posey. Other than Garnett, Posey was easily the most inspirational player the Celtics had on the court during all three of the playoff series. Posey's pregame man-hugs were almost tear jerking. They showed the unity of the team throughout the entire season. Posey made a bigger impact on this team then most think, and his loss could come down hard on the Celtics. If this happens the Celtics might be in trouble. But other than that, there's no reason the Celtics can't win another championship. This is a team that you can't help believing in. They came so far from so little. Imagine two in a row! What if two in a row leads to three in a row? If the Celtics continue to win, they get my vote for the best team this decade (not that it matters). As a suburban Boston kid the Celtics are the best team in my eyes no matter how bad they suck. But if you ask me i like the winning feeling better.

*In closing terms, my opinion is that Ainge should have decided to run for president against John McCain after the C's won it all. Maybe if he was running for the GOP the polls might have been closer on November 7th. ... "Anything's Possible!! -Kevin Garnett

Love this post. It's true Boston kids don't have a choice. Being a Celtics, Sox, Pats and even a Bruins fan is a birthright, not a choice.
