Christmas is only a few days away. There are a lot of things to look forward to when it's Christmas time. Presents, family, food, dinner with the in-laws. When you are sitting at the dinner table with your mother in-law, instead of thinking about how crappy her stories are, you can think of Christmas with the Celtics. Celtics vs. Lakers. What more could you ask for this Christmas? After the Finals last year, the rivalry was officialy restored. This game could be a preview of this year's Finals.
Speaking of the Finals, in a previously posted blog, I said that Boston would win it all again this year. How ever, for those of you who read Sports Illustrated, 67% of 189 NBA players said that the LAKERS would win the title (20% said the Celtics would win). How could the Lakers be favored by that much? The Celtics are on a 17 game winning streak (and counting, I might add). The Lakers just lost to the barely .500 Miami Heat. The Celtics are a lot deeper benchwise then the Lakers ever will be. Especially while Kobe Bryant is there. I am ashamed of the 189 players who evern thought that Boston is going to lose to the Lakers. Also, the Lakers are not even going to come close to out rebounding the Celtics unless Kobe brings a dart gun and knocks out K.G and Perk although I think he might need five or six darts to knock both of them out. That's five or six each, by the way.
This Christmas is not going to be like last year. You aren't going to be sitting at the dinner table with mashed potatoes in your mouth wishing you were unconcious. You are going to be sitting at the dinner table with mashed potatoes in your mouth wishing everybody else was unconcious so you can watch the damn game!*
*There are two games before Christmas day. Boston plays New York and Philly. Those are wins 18 and 19. Come Christmas day, they'll make it an even 20.

Plaxico Burress Shot! (by himself)
Plaxico Burress, while in a Manhattan club, shoots himself in the leg. There are so many things wrong with that! Luckily, for the Giants, this is just another excuse to finally get rid of him. This is the poor man's Randy Moss we're talking about here! He is a complete waste of talent. Burress could be the top wide reciever in the league but he decided to shoot himself. Every time I think of this story I laugh. Imagine if he got hit in the nuts. Now that would be a story. " "Superstar" shoots self in balls!" I feel bad for him though. The man makes millions of dollars and won't even play the rest of the season! But that's ok because he was out with a pulled hammy anyway! I wonder if that's what he was thinking when the gun went off. "Crap. I just shot myself in the leg. Oh wait a minute this is fine! I'm not going to play this week any way so i think im going to take the rest of the year off with full pay." All that money he has, has to go somewhere though. It's too bad that he can't use 1ook to bail himself out of jail. I hope he realizes that to be bailed out of jail for that kind of money he actually has to have friends or a really rich uncle that would want him back in society. He could always ask Tom Coughlin but im pretty sure that Tommy is actually happy about all this. Good luck Plaxico! (you need all the LUCK you can get.)

Another Title?
The Boston Celtics are basketball's equivalent of the Tampa Bay Rays. Worst to first. 2007-2008 was a remarkable season for the C's. It all started with Danny Ainge* pulling off one of the most amazing trades in basketball history. The Big Three lead the Celtics to the finals and got themselves a big ol' trophy to take back home to Bean Town. The question is, can they do it all again? What kind of stupid question is that?! Of course they can win it all again! Almost everyone from last season is back. This will be an advantage to the Celtics in the playoffs because the majority of the team has been together in super-pressure situations before. The biggest loss the Celtics took this offseason is the leaving of James Posey. Other than Garnett, Posey was easily the most inspirational player the Celtics had on the court during all three of the playoff series. Posey's pregame man-hugs were almost tear jerking. They showed the unity of the team throughout the entire season. Posey made a bigger impact on this team then most think, and his loss could come down hard on the Celtics. If this happens the Celtics might be in trouble. But other than that, there's no reason the Celtics can't win another championship. This is a team that you can't help believing in. They came so far from so little. Imagine two in a row! What if two in a row leads to three in a row? If the Celtics continue to win, they get my vote for the best team this decade (not that it matters). As a suburban Boston kid the Celtics are the best team in my eyes no matter how bad they suck. But if you ask me i like the winning feeling better.
*In closing terms, my opinion is that Ainge should have decided to run for president against John McCain after the C's won it all. Maybe if he was running for the GOP the polls might have been closer on November 7th. ... "Anything's Possible!! -Kevin Garnett

Manny Ramirez
As a young writer introductions are some what hard for me so I'm going to start off with something simple. Manny Ramirez is an asshole. I've been following the Sox since before I could remember and Manny has always been exactly the same; he either plays like the Michael Jordan of baseball or a wannabe middle aged man in a softball league. In my opinion he's a great baseball player who doesn't work hard at all (kinda like Randy Moss on a bad day). He doesn't run out pop flies or lay out in the field for absolutely anything (unless of course there's money involved). He is also probably the worst possible player any team could have in their club house. In 2004 the Red Sox actually wanted to give away Manny! When they put him on waivers I was like, "Finally! Manny being Manny is no more!" But Manny just wouldn't leave! Not one team in all of the major leagues wanted the guy! Then, in 2008, Manny started acting like a three old child on a sugar high. After a weekend with his agent, Scott Boras, in L.A the relationship between the Sox and their "toddler" would never be the same again.
On the day of the 2008 trade deadline I was at my grandparents house sitting on the toilet taking care of some "buisness" when i heard my grandmother yelling. I came out of the bathroom to see what was wrong and I saw my grandmother smiling. I asked her what happened and she said, "Manny just got traded." Households along Newengland were all probably going through the same situation, but maybe with a few different scenarios. People in the streets, people kissing babies, the whole nine yards. Every one was and is still celebrating for one reason and one reason only; Manny has been traded. The celebration got bigger when the people of Newengland had learned that Jason Bay was coming to the Bay State. Things just couldn't be better for the Sox (except maybe another worldseries. That would make things a lot better).
